38-Year-Old Man Found Stabbed To Death In Alexandria, Police Say

Police say that a 38-year-old man is dead and a suspect has taken into custody following a weekend stabbing in Alexandria.

Detectives from the Alexandria Police Department have launched a death investigation following a reported stabbing in Del Ray that left a man dead inside an area building.

The incident was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12 in the 2700 block of Dewitt Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, police say they found the 38-year-old's body, which has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

According to a department spokesperson, a possible stabber is in custody and there is no ongoing threat to the public. No information about the stabber or victim has been provided by the police.

The homicide remains under investigation.
